  it's not great but it has it's moments and it makes me smile.

  Question for you RE: Holidays

  gathering that there seems to be a mix of active jw's, inactive jw's, ex-jw's, atheists etc.

  here, i am wandering on your thoughts on the holidays with more focus on the more religious based holidays like christmas & easter.. i'd like to know if you celebrate them like the mainstream of society or if you still have your reservations about them based on what you learned as part of the wt.

  i myself have been very turned off by the holidays in recent years - not because of the wt though- but for my own personal reasons.

  The Dark family cheerfuly accepts any and every opportunity for joyous celebration. I'm looking for one of those calendars that show every holiday from every religious and secular source. If you work it right, you can have a party almost every day! Cinco de Mayo, Kwaanza, Yom Kippur, Saint Agnes' Festival of Renewal of Agony, Samhain...pick one, and if you can't find one, MAKE ONE UP!

  So if it's Tuesday, and you're broke, and all you have in the cupboard is beans and flour, celebrate something with bread and frijoles. (I'm doing that today. ) Celebrate the joy of this particular moment, whatever day it is. Do what feels comfortable for YOU and forget about what somebody else thinks or does on that day. It isn't a celebration if you feel miserable or uncomfortable or obligated to celebrate.

  Life's short, and then you die. We wasted a lot of precious moments chasing that 'everlasting life' carrot; I try to take advantage of every excuse to celebrate the precious moments I have left. I view holidays as gorgeous shiny excuses to kiss all the kids and stuff everyone with good food and great music and enough laughter to send 'em all home with smileacheface.

  If that's a sin then let Gawd kill me now!

  ghosts - UFO's?

  just wondering if anyone here has ever a supernatural experience.. whether it be seeing a ghost/angel/demon, ufo encounter.. etc..

  My son and I saw an unexplained group of lights in the sky one night, a string of evenly-spaced white lights moving west to east just above the horizon.

  Years later we saw film of a very similar phenom on tv. The military says the lights on film were flares. Apparently there was quite a flap between independent analysts and official military spokespersons because spectral analysis of the film shows the lights are not flares... go figure...but what we saw in TX was identical to the lights on that AZ film from over ten years later.

  All I know about the lights we saw is that they made no noticeable sound, moved at the same steady clip from west to east without changing altitide, and never deviated from their formation. They were NOT flares.

  This happened during the Army's Golden Saber exercises in TX, there were military vehicles and aircraft swarming the county at the time, and the lights we saw appeared during the first nighttime skirmish of the exercise, shortly after the helicopters moved out from the bases to the selected battlefield north of town. We always assumed it was some military vehicle, although it certainly wasn't anything we saw at the airport or other sites during the gladhanding community tours. Whatever it was, it wsa not moving toward the skirmish site.

  Unexplained but probably not unexplainable.

  perhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.

  as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.

  since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

  that email exposes exactly the way JWs think. So sad that it reflects badly on all you delusional cultists... it's just so typical of JW apologists to try to distance themselves from the fruits of that mindset when it becomes publicly embarrassing!

  I recall that quite recently there was some speculation on the board as to how long it would take before JWs began bandying the term 'Jezebel' in regards to Barbara; as we see, it took no time at all for the slandering to start.

  Out of the abundance of the filthy heart, the mouth speaks. Yes Proplog it IS embarrassing for you, but couldn't you take it with a little grace instead of whinging so unattractively when your fellow cultists' murderous intentions are exposed?

  AARGH! Why am I overwhelmed with visions of Fawn& Ollie running around shredding documents?

  I am giddy with gloating exultation at the prospect of the panic and terror growing in those creeps' hearts as they frantically work Legal's CYA program. I honestly thought this old heart would quit beating before justice applied some disinfectant to that festering fewmet of a corporation! For a weary heart this thread is just soul food!

  Even if they never get nailed to the wall in court, this public exposure of their mundane and base bottom line goes a long way toward evening the cosmic score against them. I watch and wait with delicious anticipation.

  Picture a fat lady dancing a hobbling circle around her walking stick, cackling madly. She's wild-eyed from lack of sleep and gnarled as an old knot but dang! Look at that goofy grin!

  Apparently the person I was conversing with was wasting company time & resources... or else he/she IS the company and took the chickenshit route out of the cognitive dissonance. Either way, I think I've heard the last from this dub.

  Which is all to the good since I had run out of polite ways to tell him/her to piss off...

  what do you guys think?.

  i've watched his program every once in awhile and have wondered if he is actually feeling "energy" from those who have passed or if he, like the wts says, is just actually receiving messages from satan and his demons.. i have actually been struggling with that issue.

  We've had this discussion fairly recently on the board. Maybe one of our more 'ept' friends will find that thread and post a link...

  I will now make two equally true statements about the matter:
  1)when the dead talk, they talk to John Edward.
  2)the dead don't talk.

  This man is a con artist, a charlatan, a fake equal to his mentor and teacher, Sylvia Brown. They charge literally thousands of dollars for their 'readings' and Edward even offers tropical vacation getaway workshops where he and his lovely wide will teach YOU to access and chat with the dead too!

  Satan and demons have nothing to do with what this creep does. Except in the generic sense that you can blame a devil for whatever evil men do...but what Edward does isn't supernatural in any way. It's just a modern twist on an ancient magician's trick.

  Thanks BobsGirl but believe me YOU DON'T WANNA BE ME... take the parts you like and use 'em all you want...but be aware that this exchange shows Mommie at her kindest gentlest...I've been working on civility in Theochronic Misery School but it's my worst subject...usually I just blast away at whoever pisses me off. I'm still learning to calibrate my weapons to the target...why blast a mosquito with a sawed-off shotgun?

  Farkel sweet, Dipfuck was mailing me from work and got nabbed for it...I don't know if I am going to get another shot at him/her! I'll let you know if they come out of the woodwork and contact me again...

  I figure that if this person was reading at Free Minds and got as far as Rose's Cantana, they must have gotten a good load of cognitive dissonance under their belt. Maybe they thought a Mommie would be easier to engage than some other apostate....BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHA! Well I WAS way sweeter to this perons than I ordinarily am...so maybe Jehoober was with them after all...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
